Business Development Representative (BDR) Sales

Role Overview

We’re looking for a highly driven, hunter-minded Business Development Representative (BDR) to help fuel our next stage of growth. This is not a passive or order-taking role, you will be responsible for sourcing, engaging, and qualifying new business opportunities across agencies, brands, and enterprise partners.

You should be someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, and is motivated by closing high-value deals and building pipeline from scratch.

What You’ll Be Doing Outbound Prospecting (Primary Focus)

  • Identify and target brands, agencies, and decision-makers across Canada
  • Execute high-volume outreach via email, LinkedIn, calls, and creative prospecting
  • Build and manage a consistent outbound pipeline

Pipeline Generation

  • Book qualified meetings for Account Executives / Sales Leadership
  • Own top-of-funnel metrics (meetings booked, opportunities generated, pipeline value)

Strategic Targeting

  • Identify high-value verticals (QSR, retail, entertainment, tech, etc.)
  • Research and personalize outreach based on brand campaigns, timing, and market trends

Collaboration

  • Work closely with AEs and leadership to refine outreach strategies
  • Provide feedback on market demand, objections, and positioning

CRM & Tracking

  • Maintain accurate records of outreach, conversations, and pipeline in CRM
  • Continuously optimize messaging and conversion rates

Proven Experience

  • 3–5 years experience as an SDR or BDR (required)
  • Media, advertising, or marketing sales experience **strongly preferred**

Strong Communicator

  • Clear, confident, and persuasive in both written and verbal communication
  • Able to tailor messaging for brands vs. agencies

Resilient & Competitive

  • Comfortable with rejection and high-volume outreach
  • Motivated by performance, targets, and earning potential

Business Acumen

  • Understands marketing fundamentals (CPMs, ROI, campaign objectives, etc.)
  • Able to speak credibly about digital media and social campaigns

Self-Starter

  • Thrives in startup environments with minimal hand-holding
  • Takes ownership of results and continuously looks for ways to improve

Nice-to-Haves

  • Existing relationships with agencies or brand marketers
  • Experience selling Instagram / social media campaigns
  • Familiarity with tools like HubSpot, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator
  • Experience working with Gen-Z / youth-focused brands
